Dr. Amanda C. Capino

Biography

Dr. Amanda C. Capino received her PharmD from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy, University of South Carolina Campus in 2014.  She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in 2014-2015 and a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency in 2015-2016 at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. Beginning in 2016, Dr. Capino served as a faculty member at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.  She was involved in coordinating/teaching multiple courses including the Pediatrics/Geriatrics Module and the Pediatrics Elective. Additionally, her clinical practice site was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She precepted learners in NICU and Academia rotations.  Dr. Capino was inducted as an inaugural member of The Academy for Excellence in Education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in August of 2022 and served as the Secretary/Treasurer for The Academy. Dr. Capino is also involved in a number of national pharmacy organizations including the Pediatric Pharmacy Association and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Dr. Capino’s research interests include pediatrics, neonatology, critical care, and scholarship of teaching and learning.

In January 2024, Dr. Capino joined Marshall University School of Pharmacy as a Clinical Associate Professor.

Dr. Capino also serves as a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing with the Pediatrics service at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
