LER Accelerator launch: Marshall is one of 22 institutions selected for AACRAO’s inaugural LER Accelerator cohort, advancing accessible, interoperable Learning and Employment Record systems. The project uses design thinking and empathy interviews with faculty, staff, and students to guide its development and next steps.

Reimagining the Economy: Marshall hosted Harvard University’s Reimagining the Economy event, “Measuring What Matters: Proving and Improving Value in Workforce Development,” bringing together workforce development professionals from higher education and non-profit sectors across the Tri-State region.

Credential WV: Marshall partnered with HEPC to present the Credential WV Summit, a statewide convening focused on microcredential expansion. West Virginia is now recognized as a national leader in this space, with participation from all 2- and 4-year public institutions and three private institutions.
Marshall Online also represented at Convergence: Credential Innovation in Higher Education and Educause conferences.

Marshall Online attended Women Warriors Summit: The Power to Pivot. This event is an annual one-day gathering aimed to inspire, build, and celebrate the women of West Virginia. This year, we learned from authors who discussed the power of pivoting, panelists—including Dr. Jodie Penrod—on how AI can support pivoting, and Hoda Kotb, a celebrated inspirational speaker and native of Morgantown, WV.

Microcredential of the Month

Innovation Explorer: The iCenter offers an online Innovation Explorer Microcredential training for community members to expose learners to Design for Delight (D4D), Intuit’s flavor of design thinking, an approach to innovating solutions that people love to complex human-centered problems.
During this 2-hour online training, learners will be immersed in Design Thinking, learning how to gain Deep Customer Empathy, ideate by Going Broad to Go Narrow, and receive feedback on a prototype from customers through Rapid Experimentation. Marshall users can access the course for free using this form.
