The newly renovated classroom is designed for toddler-aged children ages 2 to 3 years old. Children of Marshall faculty, staff and students receive priority registration. Space is available for 12 children during the operating hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We welcome the Marshall community and the greater Huntington community to celebrate with us and to learn more about our program,” said Dr. Maggie Luma, chief of staff for the June Harless Center, which operates the STEAM Center. “We believe that opening new, high-quality child care options invites a diverse workforce to the area and benefits our local economy.”
Luma added that by inviting pre-service teachers and graduate assistants from Marshall’s College of Education and Professional Development to work and observe in the center’s classrooms benefits the future teaching workforce.
This event is expected to be approximately one hour long and will include the ribbon-cutting, a welcome from the center’s director, networking with light refreshments, and a tour of the new space.
