Complete a medical exam by an FAA-approved physician.
The FAA requires commercial pilots hold a Class 1 medical certificate. Therefore we require the Class 1 certificate as a condition for admission.
- If you wear glasses or contacts, have your prescription checked before your appointment with the FAA physician.
- Check with your personal physician to ensure any prescribed medications are current.
- Complete your medical certificate application.
- Make an appointment with a local Aviation Medical Examiner.
- Submit your medical certificate to the BNFS.
Provide documentation of your U.S. citizenship.
- You can use a notarized copy of your birth certificate or a current U.S. passport.
- U.S. citizens born outside the U.S. should contact the Bill Noe Flight School regarding alternate documentation required by the FAA.
- If you do not have a U.S. passport, we highly recommend you begin the application process after you are admitted.
Send the above materials to bnfs@marshall.edu.
After you have received admission to Marshall University and received your medial certificate, you will need to apply to the Bill Noe Flight School. On the application, you will be able to select from our Charleston, Martinsburg and Wheeling locations.
We admit qualified applicants on a rolling basis, contingent on program capacity. Therefore, we recommend that you begin the application process as soon as possible.
