If you plan to teach a course next semester that you have previously taught as part of the WGSS program, please let us know by filling out the form linked at the bottom of this page (syllabus resubmission not required for repeat classes).
Alternatively, if you are planning a new course that you want to be considered for the Women’s and Gender Studies minor, the Sexuality Studies minor, or both, please also fill out the same form linked at the bottom of this page to have your course approved. You may propose regular courses or special topics courses.
Fill out the form by the end of week ten of a semester for inclusion on the course list for the following semester. This will help us promote your course to our minors.
Requirements for Women’s and Gender Studies Courses
- Syllabus states that students must treat material, instructor and each other with respect.
- 50% of course content must seek to broaden students’ knowledge, understanding, and awareness of issues relating to women and gender.
- Attached syllabus (drafts are acceptable).
- Tip: if “women” or “gender” are not in the official course title, include the word(s) in the course description and advertising circulated for the course.
Requirements for Sexuality Studies Courses
- Syllabus states that students must treat material, instructor and each other with respect.
- Course material should assume that sexuality is a basic part of the human experience.
- 50% of course content must be related to sexuality.
- Attached syllabus (drafts are acceptable).

Please fill out the form available here. You will be asked to upload a copy of your syllabus (for new courses) and respond to a series of questions.
