Biography

Lauren Heil is the Graduate Assistant for the Title IX Office where her duties include: reporting to the Title IX Coordinator for support and for training and prevention, assisting with Title IX Office hosted events, assisting the Title IX Office with supportive measures request, and assisting with special projects related to the overall mission of the Title IX Office.

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Marshall in 2024. She is now in the Master’s of Science program for Criminal Justice and is set to graduate in April 2025. Since being at Marshall, Lauren has been a member of Alpha Phi Sigma which is the Criminal Justice Honors Society, where she holds an executive position as Social Chair. She is also a student helper for the R.A.D program, which is a self-defense program taught by MUPD for women to learn self-defense tactics and techniques.

Lauren has worked multiple jobs since being in college, including work as a part-time Advocate at Branches Domestic Violence Shelter and as a safety/security officer at the Dayton Art Institute back in her hometown. After graduation, Lauren plans to be a victim advocate for domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or human trafficking survivors. Eventually, she would like to work for a federal agency as an investigator on a human trafficking task force.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, including her two nieces. She enjoys camping, true crime, country concerts, journaling, hanging out with her friends, and exploring new places.
