Welcome to the Marshall Presentation Center

Who we are

The Marshall Presentation Center is a campus-wide resource for students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

The Marshall Presentation Center was created and is managed by communication scholars and experts in the Department of Communication Studies at Marshall University.

Our goal is to improve your public speaking, presentation, and oral communication skills. We believe that everyone has something important to say, and it is our job to help you say it in an organized, confident, and compelling manner. We are a judgment-free zone and provide a safe and comfortable environment where anyone can practice and perfect their presentations.

Whether you lack confidence in your speaking skills or are concerned about the content of your presentation, we are here to help you become authentic and proficient presenters.

What we do

Presentational and public speaking can take many forms and our tutors can help you craft effective messages, encourage dynamic delivery, develop stunning visual aids, and calm public speaking anxiety. We are the only service on campus staffed with trained public speaking consultants who facilitate the recording and immediate feedback of individual or group presentations. To work with us, simply make an appointment via our website with one of our consultants. Appointments are in 15-minute increments and are available for solo and group/team presentations.

Not ready to present? We offer consultation services on topic selection, presentation research, and development, and creating effective visual aids for any type of presentation.

We also work with graduate students and faculty on research presentations, job talks, keynotes, student assessment, and rubric design. Further, we offer in-class workshops for faculty members and PopUp Presentation Workshops for all campus community members.
