Marshall Online Student Worker Spotlight- Baylee Senator

Meet Baylee!

Baylee Senator is a Graduate Student at Marshall University, majoring in Computer Science. Baylee joined the Marshall Online Team as a Graduate Assistant in July of 2024. Baylee supports the Marshall U app,  chatbox, student programs, outreach initiatives, as well as data collection and analysis.

About Baylee

What is your major and year? 

I’m a Graduate student majoring in Computer Science.

How long have you worked with Marshall Online?

Since July 2024.

What is your favorite part of working with the Marshall Online Team? 

Its such an inviting and welcoming space while still being very professional. The people are amazing. I especially love how I get to work with so many smart and amazing women.

How have you grown professionally while on our team? 

This team is an amazing place to grow. I haven’t been here long but I know I will be able to practice and improve my collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills while working here.

What might surprise us about you? 

I can wiggle my nose and lick my elbow.

What is your favorite part about Marshall University? 

It’s close to home. The campus is beautiful. Also my dad, step-mom, and uncle are alumni.

What are your future plans for after you leave Marshall? If no plans yet, what would be your dream plan?

My dream would be to work for google or work for a video game company as a programmer.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A math teacher.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Play video games and hang out with my rabbit Obie.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t be afraid to try something new, even it doesn’t align with your original plan. Change is good.
