Kelli J. Williams, PhD, RDN, LD, is Department Chair and Professor of Dietetics at Marshall University. She received her doctorate degree from The Ohio State University and has worked in various settings as a dietitian. Her primary interests are in health promotion/disease prevention and obesity. She has conducted research on food availability for rural elderly, perceptions of healthy diet and weight among Appalachian adolescents, and the impact of nutrition education in schools. Currently, Dr. Williams is involved with Marshall’s Nutrition Education Program and serves as the grant’s principal investigator.

Mary Kathryn Gould, EdD, RDN, LD, is a Professor of Dietetics at Marshall University. She completed her dietetic internship at University Hospitals of Cleveland and received her master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and her doctorate degree in Leadership Studies from Marshall University. Before her career as an educator, she worked as a dietitian in the community, acute care, and long-term care settings. Her primary interests are in clinical nutrition and nutrition education. She has conducted research on preceptor training programs for supervised practice as well as weight perceptions of adolescents in an afterschool program. In addition, Dr. Gould has developed and presented nutrition education programs for employees of local and state businesses in the Tri-state area.

Amy Gannon, EdD, RDN, LD is an Associate Professor and Director of the Undergraduate Dietetics Program at Marshall University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition and Foods at West Virginia University and her dietetic internship and master’s degree in Dietetics at Marshall University. Before her career as an educator, she worked in community-based nutrition education and in both outpatient and inpatient clinical care. Her primary interests are in childhood obesity, nutrition education, and nutrition throughout the lifespan. She specializes in the treatment of childhood and adolescent obesity and co-morbid conditions. She has conducted research on the impact of nutrition education in elementary and preschools and in Dietetics education. Most recently, she has begun working with Culinary Medicine and in partnership with the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative.

Mallory Mount, EdD, RDN, LD, CDCES, FAND is an Associate Professor of Dietetics and Director of the Dietetic Internship program at Marshall University. She completed her bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, dietetic internship, and Doctor of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Marshall University. Before her career as an educator, she worked as a dietitian in the community, acute care, and outpatient settings. Mallory is the consultant dietitian for the Southwestern Community Action Council Head Start Program in Huntington, WV. Her primary interests are in clinical nutrition, diabetes management, health promotion / disease prevention, and nutrition education. Mallory has provided nutrition education in various settings in Ohio and West Virginia, and continues to provide education in different community settings throughout the tri-state area.

Tim Bender, EdD, RDN, LD is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Distance Dietetic Internship at Marshall University. He completed his undergraduate degree, master’s degree, dietetic internship, and doctorate at Marshall University. Before his career as an educator, he worked as Director of the Marshall University Nutrition Education Program, which is a grant funded program providing an array of nutrition education services in early elementary classrooms. He has conducted research on the impact of nutrition education in early elementary classrooms. He practiced as a dietitian in a weight management clinic, working with patients who had undergone gastric bypass or gastric sleeve procedures. His primary interests are in sports nutrition and nutrition education. He also owns a private practice serving as a dietitian in workplace wellness, community nutrition, weight management, clinical nutrition, and sports nutrition.

Richard “Rick” Rogers is a Program Assistant I within the Department of Dietetics. Since August 2013, he has been responsible for providing administrative support to the dean while managing daily operations of multiple departments within the COHP. Rogers serves as liaison with university units, outside organizations and the general public. Prior to his position at Marshall, he worked for the city of Huntington as the assistant finance director for 23 years as well as the state of West Virginia Tax Department and the Cabell Huntington Health Department. Rogers received his bachelor’s of business administration from Marshall in 1984. Growing up in a big family in Huntington, Rogers said he has always been a fan of Marshall athletics and considers himself lucky to work for the best university in WV.

Brandi Sentz, MHA, RD, LD is the director for Marshall University’s Nutrition Education Program. Brandi completed her undergraduate degree at West Viriginia University and then completed her dietetic internship and master’s degree at Marshall University. Later, she received a second master’s degree in healthcare administration. Before her current position as director, Brandi was the nutrition educator for Lincoln County. Brandi has experience in many different aspects of nutrition, but most of her career has been in consulting, community, and the outpatient setting. Her primary interests are community nutrition, pediatric nutrition, and the treatment of disordered eating.

Kathrine Clark is a Registered Dietitian working as a Nutrition Educator for Marshall University’s Nutrition Education Program. Kathrine serves the eligible Putnam County Elementary schools and has a passion for creating and enhancing the lives of our youth through nutrition education. With encouragement from her surroundings, she graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor’s degree in science, a master’s degree and completion of her dietetic internship.

Rachel Sallade, MS, RD, LD is the Nutrition Educator for Kanawha County, WV. She completed her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition and Foods at West Virginia University, and then went on to complete her master’s degree and internship in Dietetics at Marshall University. Before her career as an educator, she worked as a public health dietitian for The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). In addition to the Nutrition Education Program (NEP), she also works as a dietitian for the PEIA Weight Management Program in Charleston, WV. Rachel is passionate about pediatric nutrition, mindful and intuitive eating, the culinary arts, and helping improve the health and food literacy of low income individuals.

Makenzie Stacy, MS, is the Nutrition Educator for Lincoln County schools. She completed her Bachelors of Science in dietetics and her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at Marshall University. She then went on to complete her Masters of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, and her dietetic internship all at Marshall University. Makenzie is passionate about community health and wellness and has a strong love for providing nutrition education to the youth and those in need.
