Services to Elementary, Middle, and High School Students from Marshall Libraries
Please read the following regarding services that we can and cannot provide prior to your visit to MU Libraries.
We can give tours of the Drinko Library and the Morrow Library (Government Documents, the Morrow stacks, and Special Collections). To schedule tours or services on the Huntington Campus, please use the following link: https://marshall.libwizard.com/f/requestinstructionhere-communityk12 . To schedule tours or services at the Marshall University South Charleston Library and Research Commons or the Health Sciences Library at Cabell Huntington Hospital, please contact those facilities directly.
We can help your students find print materials (such as books and journals) in the library, instruct them on how to properly evaluate sources and properly cite sources to avoid plagiarism. We can demonstrate the electronic sources that we provide to students, faculty and staff on campus.
Instruction and research demonstrations work best when tied to a specific assignment. Please provide us with details of the specific assignment your students are working on, if any.
Due to licensing agreements with vendors, community members, also called community patrons, (including elementary, middle and high school students) are not able to access our computer network or library databases. Community patrons can use most print materials while in the libraries.
To make copies, community patrons will need to purchase a points card for $1. This is just the price of the card. Additional money will need to be added as points on the card in order to make copies. Price of copies is $.10 per page for black and white copies; there is no color copier available. Points cards can be purchased in the Drinko Library from the Value Transfer Station.
