The Spanish program offers basic courses of Spanish language (SPN 101, 102, 203, and 204) and upper level courses about advanced grammar, conversation and composition, as well as courses on culture, literature, films, and other topics (300 and 400 levels).
Our section has qualified professors from Latin America, Europe, and the US. Thank to this diversity students are exposed to different dialectal accents and vocabulary, as well as to first hand experiences from different regions.
Nowadays, Spanish is a very important language in the US. For this reason, students with a degree in Spanish will have better opportunities for jobs and they are ready for interaction with international people from many different countries.

Majors: A major in Spanish consists of thirty semester hours in the same language. Twenty one hours must be in courses numbered above 204 and must include a minimum nine hours of courses at the 400 level. One 3-hour course in Spanish culture or literature in translation will be allowed to count toward the completion of the required hours for the major.

Minors: A minor in Spanish may be earned by taking fifteen hours above 101. One 3-hour course of Spanish culture or literature in translation will be allowed toward the completion of the required hours for the minor in Spanish.
