Student Instructions – Using Teams

As a Marshall Student have you’ll have full access to Microsoft 365. This collection of software and services from Microsoft includes the Microsoft Office suite of products, email and 1T of cloud storage. Marshall students can install up to 5 licenses on their devices.Microsoft Teams is a platform for collaboration and communication. Marshall will be using the Teams platform to provide online orientation, some virtual course instruction, and other resources throughout the year. Think of each team as a group where information can be shared, questions can be asked, and where you can collaborate on files. Each team is divided into channels to help find the appropriate information you need.

To download Teams on your computer:

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com.
  2. Enter your Marshall email address. Once re-directed to our Marshall single sign-on, enter your MUNet password.
  3. You can launch any of the web applications from here or install one of your licenses on the device you’re on by proceeding to the next step.
  4. Select the Install Office drop down menu.
  5. Select Office 365 apps.
  6. Follow the instructions to setup and install.

To download Teams on your mobile device:

  1. Go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Search for Microsoft Teams.
  3. Download the Teams App.

You can now log in to Teams with your MUNet username and password.

To Access a Team – Launch Microsoft Teams

The Teams application you installed is the way to join a Team or a Team virtually taught session. You can join the sessions with the device of your choice.Student at computer

*If you have problems with the app you can use the Chrome or Edge browser to log in to office.com with your Marshall email and click the Teams app icon. If you do not see it, click all apps.

In order to use Teams, you need to sign in with your MUNet username and password.

Select Teams Teams button on the left side of the app and then pick a Team or a Course Team.

Select a channel and explore the Posts/ConversationsFiles, and other tabs.
