Job Description:
With oversight by the Senior DBA, major technical duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Installation and upgrades of Oracle Server products and application software.
• Provide database implementation for both primary and ancillary projects, including
detailed documentation.
• Management of database storage and performance including implementation of database tuning for maximum efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve database performance issues by utilizing Oracle Grid Control, existing SNMPmonitoring infrastructure, and other tools.
• Establishment of database security and user access controls.
• Development of and oversight of adherence to cross-application technical standards.
• Implementation and oversight of data import/export, data conversions, and database patch applications.
• Performing complex design, analysis, development, installation, and maintenance as required for support and/or expansion of applications.
• Periodically copy production database over to the development and test environments to reseed with latest data.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) and at least 4 years of IT
experience with relational databases, primarily thorough knowledge of ORACLE
technologies in a production environment.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner in a Unix/Linux environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Middleware Services (Fusion, Weblogic), and Apache/Tomcat Middleware technologies preferred.
