Arrival Survey

On-campus residence halls open new students on Friday, January 10th, 2025. Information about on-campus housing should be directed to https://www.marshall.edu/housing/ Meal plans will begin on that same day, Friday, January 10th, 2025. We highly recommend adding some Herd Points to your account before arrival for on-campus dining. International Student Orientation will be held on Sunday, January 12th and all new international students are required to attend. We suggest that you download WhatsApp before you travel so that you may communicate with your pickup person using the WiFi at airports, if necessary. We will email you the person’s name and WhatsApp phone number.

*The Office of Global Education and Intercultural Student Affairs arrange airport pickup service and lodging for newly arriving international students beginning the week prior to the start of the semester. Please let us know if you will need our assistance when you arrive or if you will make your own arrangements for transportation and lodging. We will reach out to you via email with the WhatsApp information of the person picking you up. If you need to cancel, please directly contact that person within 24 hours. If there is a flight delay, please contact that person to inform them of the flight delay.

It is mandatory that you check in with the Office of International Student Services and attend an Immigration Session upon arrival to Marshall University. Please select the Check-in and Immigration Session that you plan to attend:

Sunday, January 12th from 12:30pm until 5pm in East Hall. This will be followed by an optional dinner.

Marshall University requires all international students to have health insurance while studying at Marshall University. Insurance will protect you against the very high medical costs in the US.
