The Marshall Food Pantry Programs
The pantry relies on donations and our budget to purchase food items. Customers can shop during operational hours and are allowed to come once a week for food. No ID or any information is needed. To serve as many people as possible, we have a partnership with the Facing Hunger Food Bank and participate in the Emergency Food Program. To participate in this program, paperwork is required to be filled out once a year. No documentation or ID required.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
The emergency food assistance program has been available at the Pantry since June 2019. This is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost. The department of Agriculture (USDA) purchases a variety of nutritious, high quality foods and then are available to distribute to our customers.
The types of food the USDA purchases for this program vary monthly and depends on the states preferences. Nearly 90 nutritious, high quality products are available including canned and fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh and dried eggs, meat, poultry, fish, milk and cheese, pasta products and cereal.
Participates eligibility depends on the income per household and must meet the state eligibility criteria. If interested in participating in this program you can contact us or visit during operational hours.
