Our mission is to eliminate hunger at Marshall University by providing food and promote nutrition to our students and the community. The Marshall Food Pantry is an on-campus food pantry that is sponsored by the Marshall’s Dietetic Department. We provide a wide variety of foods including lean meats, low-fat dairy products, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and healthy fats to ensure a well balance diet to meet students’ basic nutritional needs. We also provide recipes for our shoppers!
Every customer is allowed to come for goods once a week. We heavily rely on volunteers and donations during operational hours to continue our mission.

How does visiting the food pantry work?
Come down to our location 1802 6th Ave during operational hours.
No income information required. Come sign in and shop for food.

Why do I have to sign in at the pantry access the food pantry?
We use a traditional sign in sheet to track the number of people that visit the pantry in any given day. Your information is not shared, sold or reported to any other campus entity. This system helps the pantry coordinator to understand when to open and staff the pantry to suit community needs.
What types of foods are usually available?
The on-campus food pantry offers shelf stable food, frozen meats, canned and fresh items. We provide a variety of foods and snacks! See our Pantry Wish List and Pantry Food Guide.
How do I know if I qualify for food assistance?
It’s easy! Stop by the pantry and complete a TEFAP form- please bring your ID! The process takes about 5 minutes, and our pantry employees/volunteers can help. Your information will remain confidential and is not shared with any other entity on campus.
Why do I have to complete a form?
We partner with the Facing Hunger Food Bank to order pantry food. We are required to report the total number of clients served every month to the Facing Hunger Food Bank.
What are you doing with my information on the form? I do not want to be tracked or have this information shared.
The information you provide to us is not shared with other campus offices or non-campus entities. This information solely exists to provide oversight to our program and ensure we are following all guidelines set forth by the Facing Hunger Food Bank.
