Many organizations plan activities, service projects, and/or trips that will help participants grow through encounters and build connections with others. Many students will graduate with the same piece of paper; participating in student organizations helps students develop experiences that will set them apart.

Recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of Criminal Justice. The goals of APS are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, & educational leadership.
Marshall AFS strives to offer students unique opportunities and experiences in aquatic biology, specifically fisheries management. We host professional fisheries scientists for seminars, take field trips to fish hatcheries, and explore our surrounding aquatic environments.
Marshall Astronomy has the goal to provide a relaxing experience for students looking to learn about and explore the universe through their own experience.
The Biology Club is a scientific community of students and faculty interested in all branches of the life sciences. As a group, our goal is to further our knowledge in the sciences, network with other like-minded individuals, and community service outreach in the local area. We partake in a wide variety of activities, such as behind the scenes zoos and museum tours, exploring research opportunities with diverse faculty, and other hands-on biological adventures. As a club, we also host seasonal outreach events as well as outreach in local schools.
4-H is a national youth development program that encourages everyone to make the best better through the fourfold development of our head, heart, hands, and health. We value friendship, community service, community outreach, and changing the world.
The Marshall University Digital Forensics and Information Assurance is also the home of the Marshall University Collegiate Cyber Defense Team (Marshall CCDC). The team competes against other colleges and universities in network defense completions in the Mid-Atlantic section of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. The purpose of Marshall CCDC is to increase your overall awareness and expertise in the realm of cybersecurity and digital forensics. As a team, we work together to increase both our skills, and knowledge through education and experience.
CJA is a criminal justice organizations that develops leaders who will promote positive change in the criminal justice system and in their communities. CJA provides opportunities to criminal justice majors and minors to engage in community service.
Delta Delta Epsilon is a national honor society dedicated to recognizing and encouraging excellence in scholarship in the forensic sciences. The mission is to function as an honor and professional society for students of the forensic sciences.
Our members engage in outreach pertaining to the spread of environmental awareness. Through these endeavors we build lasting relationships with like-minded individuals and further our own understandings of our fields of interest. We are involved in community projects as well as events on campus. In addition, we also have various recreational/academic research opportunities taking place. We place emphasis on acclimating our members to the scientific instruments they may find themselves using in their prospective fields. We have a collaboration effort with OVEC, Trout Unlimited, and West Virginia Rivers to setup study/monitoring sites which are designed to hold natural gas companies accountable on proposed infrastructure routes, as well as a space in the Marshall greenhouse where we grow various flora.

Garden Club is a student organization for individuals who appreciate all aspects of horticulture. In this club, students will engage in professional development through 1) field and greenhouse gardening experience and 2) enrichment experiences such as horticultural conference and tours of gardens, conservatories, and nurseries.
Geeks and Gadgets is a strong advocate of free and open source software for all, online privacy, and helping people learn how technology works and how to better use it to aid in everyday life.

The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation is a program funded by a National Science Foundation Grant. Its purpose is to increase Under Represented Minority (URM) STEM enrollment and graduation rates.

Nea Onnim is founded around giving students the opportunity to gain research experience regardless of discipline. This allows for hands on learning by bringing faculty and students from all backgrounds together to work on projects being done.
Marshall University Neuroscience Club provides an opportunity for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty to interact and cultivate dialogue concerning neuroscience and related fields. We also facilitate campus and community outreach, education, and fundraising programs.
P.R.O.S. (Parks and Recreation Organization of Students) is a group that meets every Wednesday at 3:30pm in the Morrow library commons area. As a parks and recreation club, members of the group participate in activities such as: canoeing, camping, bowling, laser tag, disc golf, backpacking, hiking, and even getting your hands dirty by working in the greenhouse….the possibilities of what this club can do are practically endless. Anyone is free to come; no ties to the Natural Resources and Rec. Management major are required. Meetings typically last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. This is a fun organization to be a part of and the people you meet become life-long friends.
Pi Mu Epsilon is a non-secret organization whose purpose is the promotion of scholarly activity in mathematics among students in academic institutions. It aims to do this by 1) electing members on an honorary basis according to their proficiency in mathematics, 2) engaging in activities designed to promote the mathematical and scholarly development of its members, and 3) taking any other measures which will further the purpose stated above.
Pre-AMSA is a group for pre-medical students designed to help prepare them to be competitive applicants. This includes MCAT preparation, community service, and presentations from current medical students and medical schools.
The Pre-Veterinary Club at Marshall University aims to provide an array of opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge in the field of Veterinary Medicine, along with building a competitive application for veterinary colleges.
Science Olympiad at Marshall University helps local middle and high schools teachers and students prepare for the WV State level Tournament of the Science Olympiad. Science Olympiad is the nationwide science competition for students in grades 6th – 12th.
Marshall University organization focused on educating students on coral reef ecosystems and using scuba diving for recreational and scientific purposes. Students learn about various aquatic habitats diving in ocean reefs, freshwater quarries, springs, rivers, and lakes. Dive certifications are held every semester and trips are planned throughout the year locally and overseas to give students the opportunity to explore the diversity of ecosystems around the world.
The main objective of SPS at Marshall is to have fun as a group. We encourage interested students in the sciences, and physics in particularly, to develop and grow in their knowledge base of science and physics related research, develop a strong collegiate bond between faculty and students, promote public interest and awareness in science in general and specifically physics, and recognize high levels of student achievements by means of a Sigma Pi Sigma induction.

Women In Cyber (WInC) is a student organization to bring all students with the common goal of closing the gender gap in technology together. Women In Cyber’s mission is to help bridge the gender gap in technology on and off-campus by providing tech education, networking, leadership development and community outreach opportunities for females of all ages. As of January 2020, WInC is now an official student chapter of the national Women In Cybersecurity (WiCyS) organization (https://www.wicys.org/student-chapters).
