Registration is now open for the 2025 West Virginia Science Olympiad, which will take place at Marshall University on March 1, 2025. Middle school and high school teams can register online.
Science Olympiad, established in 1984, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of science education through hands-on, competitive learning experiences. Open to students in grades 6 through 12, Science Olympiad offers participants an opportunity to excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through regional, state, and national competitions. Winning teams from the WV tournament will earn the opportunity to compete at the Science Olympiad National Tournament.
Who can participate:
Public, private, and homeschool teams (grades 6-12)
Out-of-state teams may participate, though they cannot advance to nationals from WV.
Teams must have one teacher liaison affiliated with a school. Parents are welcome to help organize teams.
Participants will compete in a variety of science and engineering challenges that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The event provides not only a platform for academic recognition but also fosters a love for STEM among students and teachers across the region.
