Math professor Dr. Tom Cuchta was invited to speak in a special session titled “Hypergeometric Functions, Orthogonal Polynomials, and Multivariable Polynomials” at the 8th Approximation Theory and Special Functions conference held in Ankara, Türkiye on 4-6 September 2024. His talk was on some recent and forthcoming research on hypergeometric functions and was titled “Discrete and Matrix Analogues of Hypergeometric Series”.
The conference was held in honor of Professor George Anastassiou (University of Memphis) on the occasion of his retirement. Previous iterations of this conference series were previously held across the world, including in Belgium, Hungary, Sweden, France, Bulgaria, and Greece.
