About
Julie Snyder-Yuly is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Marshall University. Her research engages qualitative and rhetorical methods to examine textual and visual microaggressions in online communication, with an additional focus on the intersection of race, class, and gender in society. She is particularly interested in how historical presentations of race continue to be revived in online media. Additionally, she has researching student to professor bullying with faculty at University of Wyoming and Weber State. Dr. Snyder-Yuly loves road trips on her scooter, rollerblading, outdoor activities, her cats, painting and stained glass projects. Having primarily lived in the Midwest, she is excited by the West Virginia landscape and the opportunity to see bears.
