Participating in research serves the dual purposes of enabling students to exercise and expand their innate creativity while also strengthening their laboratory skills and honing their essential problem solving skills. Both of these skills are essential for success later in life. Undergraduate students are required to engage in a collaborative research project with a faculty member as part of their Capstone Experience (CHM 491).
The following documents explicitly and thoroughly detail the requirements necessary to obtain credit for your required chemistry degree Capstone Experience. Carefully read and adhere to the information contained within these documents. Failure to do so may result in a delay for your expected graduation date. You may need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader application to view these documents.
*All students planning to begin their Capstone Experience in the near future should try to attend the Chemistry Seminars even if they are not enrolled in the seminar course.
