Dr. Christopher Schletter, Conductor
The Marshall University Symphonic Band (MUSE 421) is one of the fine ensembles performing core wind band repertoire, as well as some new and contemporary works. Membership in the Symphonic Band is open to all Marshall University students, both music majors and non-majors. Rehearsals take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 1:00-1:50. Auditions are not required to be in the ensemble. However, we request that all students have a few years of experience and have the ability to read music. The ensemble performs numerous time throughout the academic year and are highlighted at the Honor Band Festival in February each year.
We work to better ourselves through music, while we strive to reach exceptional music performance levels together. We encouraged members of the Symphonic Band to practice their parts on a regular basis outside of the scheduled rehearsals.
